Equipment for hire
Touring and cross-country skis
We have different types of skis of varying width. Most of our track skis have NNN bindings (New Nordic Norm). NNN boots adult sizes up to 50. Some few skis with Salomon bindings and a few Salomon boots.
We also have BC (back country) skis with ¾ metal edge and BC bindings + boots from size 36-49. These skis do go in the tracks.
Children’s skis
The shortest skis are “snowman” skis with bindings for ordinary children’s boots. These skis are 90 cm long. Children’s skis vary from 90 cm and longer and have NNN bindings or 75 mm bindings. Boots from size 25.
Racing skis
We have racing skis and boots for both classic and skating techniques. Classic boots and skating boots from size 36-48. Children’s racing skis size 130-170 cm and boots from size 34.
Mountain skis
Different types of mountain skis are available for hire. You can choose between different sizes and types of boots: leather boots or plastic boots. We have climbing skins for both normal mountain skis and wide mountain skis.
Telemark skis
You can choose between different types of Telemark carving skis. If you prefer 75 mm plastic boots, the binding will be a Cobra cable binding. We have NTN boots and carving skis with NTN bindings. The shortest Telemark skis are 117 cm with 75 mm bindings.
Plastic boots 75 mm, sizes 36-48.
NTN boots from sizes 39-45½.
Skis with randonée bindings
Randonée is French for “to go on a mountain tour” and that is exactly what randoneering is about. The skier’s toes are fixed, and the heel is free. When running downhill the heel is fixed in an alpine binding.
Skins are necessary and included in the randonée ski hire.
Pulks
Fjellpulken pulks, ordinary or twin pulks, are available for hire with us. You can hire an adjustable sleeping bag for the pulk as well.
We also have a range of sledges.
Trugers (snow shoes)
Snow shoeing is a growing activity and fits people of all ages. Snow shoeing is a perfect way of experiencing the winter mountains outside the tracks.
The new and modern snow shoes are very light and of a good quality. You are in 100% control when ascending and descending the mountains. Wearing snow shoes, you can enjoy nature fully!

Ice climbing, water park or museum?
If you want a break from skiing, a trip to Rjukan is an opportunity. The town was built in the early 1900s in only 7-8 years from naked fields to a prosperous industrial town. It was established by some of the best architects of the time and by the Hydro company. In Rjukan you can find The Vemork Industrial Workers’ Museum, a water park and the Tourist Office (VisitRjukan). And Rjukan has a Sun Mirror reflecting the sun beams all year round from the top of the mountains down the central square of Rjukan.
You can go by the free Fjellbus between the Gausta area and Rjukan.
Ice climbing
Rjukan is known as one of Europe’s best areas for ice climbing. Please read more about ice climbing in Rjukan.
